Mick and the boys might have been in town this past Saturday night, but South Pearl Street was most definitely the place to be.

What could be better on a sunny Colorado afternoon, than frosty beer and smokin’ blues?!

The 2019 Swallow Hill Blues & Brews Festival on South Pearl Street in Denver, took place on Saturday, August 10th, with an incredible musical line up, including Otis Taylor, Albert Cummings, Chris Daniels & The Kings, Kerry Pastine & The Crime Scene, and the Nic Clark Band

Kerry Pastine & The Crime Scene cranked up the heat on this warm summer afternoon with their own unique brand of bluesy swing and, as they say, the crowd went wild. The shoulder-to-shoulder crowd represented all ages, from kids to grandparents. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen so many people smiling, dancing and toasting each other – it was a heartwarming sight to see.

The Crime Scene is gearing up for their new album release coming up next month. Find out more about Kerry Pastine & The Crime Scene here: CrimeSceneBand.com and FOLLOW the band at the links below.

Headed by two cancer survivors, Chris Daniels & The Kings brought heaping helpings of joy to the day, with their roadhouse, funky-horn blues.

Freddi Gowdy of the renowned Freddi Henchi Band, and Chris Daniels, band leader of The Kings for the past 35 years, had the crowd singing along, and getting up off the funk.

Colin “Bones” Jones on lead guitar dealt some sweltering guitar solos, Randy Amen hit the skins and lent vocals, Alex Goldberg nailed the bass, and Darrel “Doody” Abrahamson and Jim Waddell rounded out the revelry on horns.

A host of delicious local ice cold brews were on tap, including Alpine Dog, Black Project Beer, Dead Hippie Brewing, Dos Luces Brewery, Fiction Beer, Odell Brewing, Mancan Wine, Platt Park Brewing, Stem Ciders, Tivoli Brewing Company
