Mark Cantwil’s New Album Is a Love Letter To His New Hometown

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Ohio native, Mark Cantwil, just released his fourth studio album, Newport News, on August 4, 2023, and it’s a treasure trove of amazing stories set to song.

Cantwil wrote most of the tunes on the 11-track album after moving to the remote countryside, near the small town of Newport, Ohio – population 122, and tells his small-town, life-on-the-road stories in song.

Three singles were released in advance of the album, New Year’s Day,” “We’re All Alright,” and “Pardon Me.” Check out the official video for one of my favorite songs on the album, “Pardon Me” below:

Cantwil has teamed up with ATOM Records for the release of Newport News. ATOM Records is based in Dayton, OH and their main mission is to assist new and established artists in selling their music online.

“Damn It To Hell” is the newest single release off the new album and Cantwil is currently working on a video for the tune.

The entire album is an amazing, cohesive mix of blues, rock & Americana, all blended with Cantwil’s unique voice and style. I don’t say this about many albums, but Newport News is worth listening to, in its entirety – you won’t be disappointed.
