There’s nothing better than a weekend of live music, cold beer, delicious food and time with friends! You can enjoy all of those things at the Carolina Indie Festival on September 29th & 30th, 2023 and admission is free!
The festival is sponsored by local businesses and features live music by indie artists from near and far.
This amazing festival is hosted and coordinated by Tim Emmert and Hugger Mugger Brewing Company in Sanford, North Carolina. Hugger Mugger is known for showcasing the hottest independent acts and offers a monthly Blues & BBQ event called First Friday. The Carolina Indie Fest showcases all genres of music, including rock, blues, country, Americana, alternative, punk and spoken word.
The fantastic line-up on Friday night opens with a band of two brothers, The Jeremiah McKinley Band, followed by alt-rock and soul band, Heat Preacher. Then, roots rock favorite, Gooseberry Jam hits the stage at 7:30pm, with local favorite serving up outlaw-country to bring home the party, the Cliff Wheeler Band at 8:45pm.
Saturday, September 30th is an all-day jam kicking off with punk band Oort Patrol at 3:00pm, followed by the unique and well-loved stylings of Shirlette Ammons at 4:15pm, and then indie-funk favorite, Farewell Friend at 5:30pm. Next up is the inspirational Australia-born, Kara Grainger at 6:45pm, then it’s songstress powerhouse, Reese McHenry at 8:00pm and wrapping up the fest is the unique stylings of Skylar Gudasz at 9:15pm.
Carolina Indie Fest not only offers outstanding live music, but lots of tasty treats as well. Be sure to check out the Food Truck Rodeo. There will be six food trucks each day and the deliciousness will include Italian, Mexican, Barbecue, empanadas, burgers and fries.
In addition to great food and live music, there will be dozens of craft and other vendors at the fest. Including, a bookstore on wheels, The Gus McGee Book Companyon Saturday, Sept. 30th. It will be easy to find them, just look for the converted 24-foot school bus!
Thanks to Ting Internet there will be a Selfie Station located across from the merch counter at the end of the beer hall. Stop and get your pic taken with Indie Man!
There will be seating available, but feel free to bring a lawn chair. This is a family-friendly event and kids are welcome, as long as they are accompanied by an adult. Dogs are normally welcome outside in the beer garden and you can take them inside with you, while grabbing a drink.
