When an artist releases a track that everyone in the world can relate to – that’s the mark of a brilliant songwriter and Charlie John is just that. Like many of us, John struggles with depression and anxiety and he wrote his new single, “Cheer Up” as a way to bring awareness to the issue. “I wanted to create something that would remind people and society that most of the time people’s problems are much harder to solve than you realize,” John says. “I wanted to say that you should get to know someone before judging them and just telling them to quickly feel better when that simply isn’t possible.”
Singer/songwriter Charlie John, currently resides in Covington, KY and has been making amazing music for twelve years. Charlie has won 2 Ohio Music Awards for songwriting and he won Grand Prize in the Songdoor 2016 International Songwriting Competition with his song “Change Me”. Charlie recently showcased an original set at the SXSW Conference in Austin, TX on March 16 2023.
If you’ve ever been in a dark funk because life’s troubles are getting you down and someone throws a “cheer up” your way, as if that’s the answer to your problems, you’ll want to keep Charlie John’s feisty new pop tune on repeat.
“Cheer Up” is set for release on March 31, 2023 and will be available on Spotify, Apple Music, Bandcamp and anywhere else you find music. This song is a must-listen for anyone who is struggling and in need of a relatable and uplifting power-pop anthem.
