Over the years, Sycamore Bones has stayed true to their alt-Americana roots, but have evolved to include some down-home country with a classic-rock vibe. This eclectic five-piece band hailing from North Carolina, has just released their new, captivating, sing-along tune “Little White Pill” off of their upcoming album Someone Who Knows, set for release on March 1, 2023.
I had the privilege of previewing the new album, and I was not disappointed! Full of relatable lyrics, poignant vocals and moving melodies, this new album is a musical feast that will feed music fans until they’re satisfied.
The new single, “Little White Pill” is especially intriguing, as it’s a song most everyone can relate to. Cory Kinal said, in a recent Facebook post, about the single, “Sycamore Bones released a new song “Little White Pill” about me having long episodes of deja vu and wondering what it is, if its maybe some psychic, medium, lilydale, spiritualist type of thing? The doctors ended up prescribing seizure medication that’s also used to treat bipolar disorders and me questioning how that’s supposed to work.” Like any stellar songwriter, Kinal channeled his wonderings into song and now we can all sing-along and wonder with him.
Sycamore Bones was formed over 7 years ago when Andrew Massey and Cory Kinal began playing together at open mic and songwriter nights around Hickory and Lenoir North Carolina. The band bucs the norm and uses their live shows to showcase their lyrical and heartfelt original songs, just sprinkling in a few covers to round out the performance
Sycamore Bones is Cory Kinal – vocals and guitar; Andrew Massey – vocals and electric guitar; Nora Kaminski – vocals, fiddle and vibraslap; Ryan Kinal – bass; and Cody Pennell – drums. The band will be performing in and around Boone and Lenoir in the coming months. Click here for show info: Sycamore Bones – Shows.
