After entering the venue and going through heightened security which is need these days, I got my cold beer and waited for the first band to go on stage, which was Wolves at the Gate, an American Christian metal and post-hardcore band from Cedarville, Ohio featuring Steve Cobucci on rhythm guitar and clean vocals, Ben Summers on bass guitar and backing vocals, Nick Detty on unclean vocals and piano , Abishai Collingsworth on drums and Joey Alarcon on lead guitar.
This amazing band played their current hit. “Peace That Starts the War,” plus other tracks from their latest album, Eulogies, their fifth studio album. I enjoyed their performance, and I got their earlier albums to review later.
After a short break Rain City Drive, an American rock band from Sacramento, California hit the stage with its members Colin Vieira on bass, Weston Richmond on lead and rhythm guitar and backing vocals, Felipe Sanchez on rhythm guitar, Zachary Baker on drums and Matt McAndrew (who was a runner up on season 7 of The Voice on Team Adam) on lead vocals and guitar.
This band gave a stellar performance with cuts from their latest album Rain City Drive which features their hit, “Waiting On You” and got the audience ready for the next band which is a band I have seen twice before and own their complete library on vinyl which is From Ashes to New, an American rock band from Lancaster, Pennsylvania featuring Danny Case on lead vocals, Matt Brandyberry on rap vocals, keyboards, synthesizers, programming, clean vocals, bass, and rhythm and lead guitar, Lance Dowdle on lead guitar and bass and Mat Madiro on drums, percussion. Their amazing performance featured such songs as their new hit single “Heartache” as well as their earlier hits such as “Crazy,”“Panic,” and so much more. I have always enjoyed their performance and seeing their growth as performers and songwriters
To finish up the evening was Memphis May Fire. an American metalcore band from Nashville, Tennessee and the band currently consists of lead guitarist Kellen McGregor, lead vocalist Matty Mullins, bassist Cory Elder, and drummer Jake Garland. This is my second time seeing this band, the first time was being at Capones in Johnson City, Tennessee. This band gave a powerful performance doing tracks from their latest album Remade In Miseryand their earlier albums as well.
All four of these bands gave performances that I would be willing to see again. After the show, I was able to get my From Ashes To New album Panic signed by all four members, and then I got to meet the members of Wolves At The Gate and Rain City Drive to sign my vinyl album and CD, and get a photo taken with the band members (see photos below.)
Then there was one more thing I needed to get done and that was to talk with the manager of The Beacham about the venue. This venue was built in 1912 and has gone through several owners over the years. Actually the venue is in two sections.
The section I was at, The Beacham is a 1300 person venue that mainly features National acts and through a tunnel leads next door to The Social which features local acts and late night features a DJ in both areas. The venue side that I was on, features five bars and plenty of room for merchandise tables. I was impressed with the friendliness of the staff and the cleanliness and the security of the venue. This is a venue that I would love to come again to see other National acts. The only thing this venue need is some kind of food even it was snacks. If you ever get a chance to visit this venue, please do so, you won’t regret it.
