Bob was a night club, radio, and private engagement Disc Jockey for more than two decades. He started in 1975, while stationed in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba serving in the United States Navy. Bob worked at local clubs and did private engagements, as well as a weekly show on the Armed Forces Radio Network. Bob performed in numerous clubs in Okinawa, Japan, Texas, and Louisiana.
After leaving the Navy, Bob moved to Port Arthur, Texas and continued working in clubs in Port Arthur, Orange, and Beaumont, Texas, Vinton, Louisiana, and all over West Virginia. Bob then started reviewing new releases for several record labels.
Bob retired as a disc jockey in 2000. During the 80’s and 90’s, Bob wrote over 1,600 music reviews, before he was forced to take a long break due to health problems.
Bob is a disabled Navy veteran, but he has not let that stop him from doing what he loves. Three years ago, Bob began writing again, and has published more than 1,500 reviews, so far.
“I have never done this for money,” says Bob, “only for the love of music and my support of indie and major label recording artists. My only pay is sometimes receiving a signed vinyl, CD or an X-Large t-shirt plus being able to go to a concert or a festival with my wife for free.”
Bob currently lives with his wife in Jonesborough, Tennessee. Virtuosity Worldwide Magazine is honored to add Bob Levoy to our authors on staff. “My love of music and reviewing new releases makes my day go brighter,” says Bob. “I am looking forward to hearing from record labels, recording artists and bands that wish to have their music reviewed.” If you are an artist or record label, that would like Bob to review your music, you can contact him through his website here: https://oasisentertainmentblog.wordpress.com/contact or you can email him directly here: boblevoy@comcast.net.
